"There is a destiny that makes us brothers:
None goes his way alone:
All that we send into the lives of others
Comes back into our own."
a poem by Edwin Markham taken from the book, " A Season of Life" which provides the daily motivation and inspiration for this program. It is recommended reading to all members of the Cape Crusader Family.

The Cape Crusader Basketball Club was formed by a group of local basketball enthusiasts frustrated by the limited opportunities for our young people to learn and develop the skills necessary to succeed in the great game of basketball. More importantly, the founders of the Cape Crusaders, are successful professionals in the areas of education, law enforcement, business and law, wish to use basketball as a means to impart to our young people the very same principles that are used to succeed in athletics that are later used to succeed in life. We are dedicated to making this a program in which our kids will be proud to participate and our community proud to support. Hard work, discipline, dedication and respect are the pillars upon which our program is built. By combining the right amount of individual instruction and top-level competition with an emphasis on academic success, our young people will be able to maximize their opportunities in basketball and more importantly, life!
In addition to the boys program, we are looking for girls between the ages of 8-14 who are serious about basketball and want to improve their game; this program is coached by Katie DelCampo, a former division one basketball player, Cape Henlopen Alumnus and current Mariner teacher .
