HARD WORK PAYS OFF!!!!!!!
This past weekend the 14u team competed in the programs first ever officially sanctioned AAU tournament. Remarkably the boys advanced to the semi-finals by winning two consectutive overtime games before losing in the semi-finals on sunday afternoon. What we did not realize at the time was that by making the semi-finals, the Cape Crusader Basketball Club qualified for the division II natioinal championships!! This tournament will take place at the Disney Wide World of Sports complex August 1-8. This is a remarkable accomplishment considering that we are drawing kids from a much smaller area than most teams and that we are only in our second year of existence!!!! We are extremely proud of our young men, not only for the way in which they played but also for the way in which they conducted themselves on and off the court.
Attending the national tournament will require a huge financial commitment but is a once in a lifetime opportunity for many of our players. We will do as much as we can to make this opportunity a reality. Each individual player will need to pay a portion of the expenses as well as being involved in the necessary fund-raising events which we will have to hold throughout the summer. We will schedule a parents meeting during the next couple of weeks to discuss this opportunity.
FUND RAISERS:
TRAVEL TEAM MEMBERS ARE EACH REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE IN THREE FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES WHICH WILL BE SCHEDULED THROUGHOUT THE SUMMER. WE WILL KEEP YOU POSTED ON THESE DEVELOPMENTS AS WE PROGRESS THROUGH THE SUMMER.
MEMBERSHIP
full membership in the club is 100.00 per player. this fee entitles you to participate in all of the various instructional programs and to try out and participate on the travel teams at no additional fee.
